Workshop proceedings - Identification of areas of joint interest and management procedures applicable in treansnational cooperation

Main authors:
Olivier Salvi, based on a survey and the contributions presented in a workshop on july 5-6,2012

Executive Summary:
The overall objective of the SAF€RA project is to coordinate research investment among the Member States in the field of industrial safety. In order to reach this objective, the project work plan includes a series of activities to develop joint strategies prior to the launch of joint calls for proposals (in the work package WP3).
This report identifies the areas of joint interest and management procedures applicable in transnational cooperation in the framework of the SAF€RA project.
It describes the main outcomes of a survey discussed and consolidated during a workshop on July 5&6, 2012 in Toulouse. All partners of the consortium took part in the survey and enabled to collect information on 16 programmes. 15 programmes were presented during the workshop, with the objective to prepare the ground for future joint calls for proposals in the field of industrial safety.
The main conclusions concern the management procedures to define research programmes and launch call for proposals, as well as the content (the possible topics for research).

Memorandum of Common Understanding

Report name:
Memorandum of Common Understanding

Executive Summary:
The first steps of the SAF€RA project were to agree on the priorities for future joint activities and to develop a joint strategy. Complementarities, gaps and new opportunities in research were examined and summarized in a report upon which the discussions on the priorities were based. A consultation process was initiated among the partners and the Advisory Panel of SAF€RA and broadened to include the national networks, the Commission, and the social partners, aiming to define the future direction for SAF€RA. The outcome of the consultation process is the Memorandum of Common Understanding, including the SAF€RA Strategy for the two remaining years of the project, and beyond.
